DURANTE HOMENAJE DE RECONOCIMIENTO OTORGADO POR LA ASSOCIATION OF COOPERATIVE EDUCACION (ACE) EN SU CONVENCION ANUAL EN EL HOTEL VERDANZA, ISLA VERDE, S.J. PUERTO RICO.
Dear friends:
I receive this recognition with a deep and lovely gratitude toward those executives which considered me as a presentable candidate for it. ¡What an un expected honor!.
Once accepted, let me tell to all of you: - I could'nt achieve a present like this, doing every things only by myself.
The spirits of many great cooperators already gone are now transiting trough my memory. They gave to me with their lectures, with their beautiful examples of devotion and sacrifice, the necesary strenght and knowledge, to do as constantly as possible , small acts related to love, service and cooperatives actitudes.
More over, during these last years, some good friends, well known since three or four decades ago, gave me the oportunity to put into practice again, my knowledge and energies in favor of the cooperative movement. They are recognized leaders performing important functions at the Cooperatives Yabucoeña (Yabu Coop) y Familiar Progresista.
I have done most of my efforts in order to be back to my old groove and display now with my seventy three years old some positive energies and valuables activities as in the past.
No limitation impossed over my person could control at this time my convictions as how to fight in favor for political,economic, and cultural liberties for the puerto rican people.
My comitment defending my concepts - over and around- a genuine cooperative education, is not negotiable and never could be diminished or reduced. If a cooperative is working hard to grow big, the only thing that could expect fron me is a similar reaction.I'll be minute by minute dreaming,thinking, and acting as a giant, pursuing the bigest objectives.
To me, education is the basement in the whole cooperative structure. I believe in an integrated ,coordinated, correlated,conection, between administration, capitalizacion,gently and sincere public relations, and transparent marketting strategies. But always have to be present the education, working actively, watching the conditions and necessities of the cooperatives, in all the internal and external segments. And for it, is necessary a responsable assigment of resourses
to a cientific budget.
And now, I hope, all of you ,dear brothers, accept in a friendly manner, my last words as a farewell present or gift arising from the bottom of my soul:
GOD BLESS CANADA, GOD BLESS U.S.A., GOD BLESS ALL THE LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES PRESENT HERE TONIGHT, AND GOD BLESS A FREE PUERTO RICAN NATION IN A NEAR FUTURE WITH A DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM GUIDED BY THE PRINCIPLES OF COOPERATION.
